Vanderbilt awards endowed chairs to 19 faculty members

On March 24, Chancellor Daniel Diermeier and Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs C. Cybele Raver honored scholars from across Vanderbilt at an endowed chair investiture ceremony. The distinguished faculty members representing a wide range of fields were presented with medallions that symbolize attaining their positions and will become part of their official academic regalia. Read More

Vanderbilt’s first Schmidt Science Fellow is just getting started

Analytical chemist Hannah Richards refuses to accept “just because” as an answer. Richards’ need to know “why” sparked her love of chemistry: Science gave her answers. Her research works to develop tools for gauging infection-related triggers of preterm birth, and she recently became the first Vanderbilt scholar to be awarded the prestigious Schmidt Science Postdoctoral Fellowship. Read More
