Vanderbilt champions women’s athletics with Anchored for Her campaign

Top 25 Road Win: Commodores collect an 84-83 come-from-behind win at Kentucky

The Vanderbilt women’s basketball backcourt duo of sophomore Mikayla Blakes and freshman Aubrey Galvan led the No. 7/8-ranked Commodores to a thrilling 84-83 come-from-behind victory at No. 16/16 Kentucky on Thursday night in SEC action. The pair of underclassmen scored a combined 38 points over the final two quarters of play at Memorial Coliseum to help Vandy erase a nine-point deficit in the third quarter against the Wildcats and score its third win over a top-25 team this season. Read More
ICE STORM SUPPORT - BY THE NUMBERS • 826+ Facilities staff and VUPD officers worked over the weekend, many staying in nearby hotels • 3,700+ Hours worked over the weekend by facilities staff clearing ice and tree debris • 27 tons of ice melt spread across campus walkways 500+ people supported at the campus warming center • 25,312+ meals served by VU Dining Saturday-Monday
As a dangerous ice storm swept through Middle Tennessee in late January, Vanderbilt quickly mobilized to support students, faculty and staff amid widespread power outages and hazardous conditions. The university opened warming centers, adjusted academic schedules and provided frequent updates, while facilities, dining and public safety teams worked around the clock to keep campus safe and operational.
