Herstory Made: No. 5 Vanderbilt women's basketball sets the school record for best start to a season with win at Mississippi State
The No. 5-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team made history last Thursday night, as the Commodores collected an 89-84 victory at Mississippi State to set the school record for the best start to a season with a perfect 18-0 to open the 2025-26 campaign. The 18-consecutive victories also mark the longest winning streak at any point in a season in school history. Vanderbilt earns its first Carnegie Community Engagement Classification
The American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching have announced the institutions that earned the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement for 2026, and Vanderbilt University is among them for the first time. This designation honors institutions that are deeply committed to working alongside their communities.
