Senior linebacker Nick Rinaldi has been named the SEC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year the league office announced on Thursday. He is the first-ever member of the program to earn the honor since its inception in 2003. Read More

All Hands On: Vanderbilt alumni translate their undergraduate research experiences into postgraduate success
Tucked behind the 6 Magnolia Building on the Peabody campus is a native meadow created by Vanderbilt students to increase pollination and biodiversity, support soil health on campus and provide a “living lab” for research by faculty and students. The native meadow and the yards of Nashville homes became testing sites to learn more about our soil during the “Soil-Your-Undies Challenge.”
As a research institution, the two “products” Vanderbilt puts into the world are alumni and the research produced. Whether it’s helping to cure cancer, inspire with art or promote sustainability, Vanderbilt students learn to apply the combination of practical skills and confidence that can only be gained from experience to a broad range of fields—positioning them to be much more effective in translating their education to results outside the classroom. A whole lot of winning: On Dec. 3, both the men's and women's basketball teams took part in the ACC/SEC Challenge doubleheader at Memorial Gym. The No. 17 men's team defeated SMU with an 88-69 win, while the No. 15/14-ranked women's team beat Virginia, 81-68. Anchor Down! ⚓
