Debate Team to host series of Reunion events celebrating Vanderbilt debate’s history and future
 
Vanderbilt Debate will host an open house, public debate and alumni reunion on Friday, Nov. 3. This event series is an opportunity to reflect on the history of debate at Vanderbilt, connect with alumni, explore the new debate space and hear about where Vanderbilt Debate is headed next. The event is open to the public, and attendance from past and present Vanderbilt Debate students is strongly encouraged.

Explore Vanderbilt’s early history through archaeological excavations at the Vaughn Home
 
Join students and faculty from the Department of Anthropology to learn more about Vanderbilt’s early history through archaeological excavation on the grounds of a service workers’ cabin once located behind the first faculty residences on campus. Ongoing investigations at the Vaughn Home (currently the Robert Penn Warren Center for the Humanities) will be open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

British ambassador to visit Vanderbilt Oct. 23
 
Vanderbilt University will host a conversation featuring Dame Karen Pierce, the British ambassador to the United States, and Morgan Ortagus, former spokesperson for the United States Department of State. The event will be Monday, Oct. 23, from 5 to 6 p.m. and is open to the public.

VRS is set to host a sober tailgate and football watch party on Oct. 14. The program also connects students who are in recovery from addiction with resources such as individual coaching, social events, campus-wide prevention programming, and fentanyl testing strip and NARCAN distribution.
