Oct. 10-17 is campus-wide Free Speech Week
 
Vanderbilt will hold a series of high-profile events Oct. 10–17 in observance of the university’s first-ever campus-wide Free Speech Week, part of Chancellor Daniel Diermeier’s recently launched Dialogue Vanderbilt initiative. The event will bring high-profile guests to campus to discuss the current state of free expression and civil discourse.

Quantum Potential is a collection of wild but precise portraits of the scholars, scientists and students at Vanderbilt who are finding new ways to understand the world—and change it. A premiere event will take place Oct. 11 at 6 p.m., including a screening of two short films, behind-the-scenes discussions and an immersive performance. The event is open to the general public; registration is required.

Updated COVID-19 vaccine available for Vanderbilt University faculty, staff and postdocs
 
The updated COVID-19 vaccine is available to Vanderbilt University faculty and staff through the Occupational Health Clinic. Employees may also receive the updated vaccine by scheduling with their Vanderbilt Health primary care physician through My Health at Vanderbilt, at Vanderbilt Health Walk-In Clinics and at retail pharmacies across the region.

Choreographer Allison Orr is visiting Vanderbilt for a weeklong residency at the Curb Center, during which she will be speaking to several classes and leading a community dance workshop in partnership with the dance nonprofit New Dialect. Additionally, Orr will offer a public talk on her new book, DanceWorks: Stories of Creative Collaboration, at Central Library on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
