3.   Vanderbilt Wind Symphony and University Orchestra to make season debuts this weekend
    The Vanderbilt Wind Symphony, conducted by Thomas Verrier, associate professor of conducting, will open its fall performance season on Friday, Sept. 22, with Symphonic Songs. The Vanderbilt University Orchestra will perform Rhythmic Tapestry on Saturday, Sept. 23, when Ernesto Estigarribia Mussi, assistant professor of conducting, will make his Blair conducting debut. 4.   Vanderbilt Campus Dining launches ‘Get Well Meals’ program to support sick students

5.   Story Photo Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center volunteers help literacy, math achievement grow at Ida B. Wells Elementary
    What started out as a service project for the Association of Vanderbilt Black Faculty and Staff affinity group quickly turned into a strong community partnership between members of the Vanderbilt community and Ida B. Wells Elementary School in East Nashville. Throughout the 2022–23 school year, faculty, staff and students put in more than 400 service hours with the school. [ Read More ]

7.   Portion of Wyatt Center sidewalk will be closed Sept. 23 for roof repair
    A portion of the sidewalk in front of the Wyatt Center in the Peabody Neighborhood will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 23, to repair the building’s roof. The entrances to the Wyatt Center will remain open. [ Read More ]

9.   Story Photo Vanderbilt will host screenings during Nashville Film Festival
    Vanderbilt University is partnering with NashFilm to provide two of the festival’s venues, Rothschild Black Box Theater and Sarratt Cinema. 10.   Webinar on ‘U.S. News’ rankings methodologies for students, families, alumni is Sept. 29
    Vanderbilt University Chief Data Officer Olivia Kew-Fickus will discuss the methodologies that inform U.S. News & World Report’s annual “best colleges” rankings. 11.   Proposals being accepted for International Education Week 2023; submissions open through Oct. 13
    International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of Education and State, with the goal of celebrating international education. IEW at Vanderbilt has traditionally included a diverse range of events, from international game nights to panel discussions on global issues. Proposals are being accepted through Oct. 13 and should be related to international education, cultural exchange and/or living in a global environment. [ Read More ]
