University hosting national Dense Urban Terrain Exercise with U.S. Army, Metro Nashville Davidson County Aug. 9–10 |

The training exercises are designed to assess response readiness to a critical incident in a dense urban environment. University and medical center employees and guests should expect to see a large number of uniformed military personnel and Metro Nashville first responders in the area of 25th Avenue and Children’s Way during the two-day exercise.

Five Vanderbilt graduate students selected as 2023-2024 SEC Emerging Scholars |

The fellowship program is intended to serve as a pathway and source of mentorship for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars across the Southeastern Conference to prepare them for tenured faculty positions. This cohort of Vanderbilt scholars will attend the upcoming 2023-24 SEC Emerging Scholars conference Oct. 1–4 at the University of Arkansas.

Dore Jam fan event set for Aug. 19 |

Vanderbilt Athletics announced that the 2023 Dore Jam will take place from 2-4 p.m. on Aug. 19. A celebration of Commodore athletics, representatives from all available sport programs will be in attendance to meet and greet fans. The event will also include games and activities, music and a chance to win prizes.
