Lutz reappointed vice chancellor for development and alumni relations
 
John M. Lutz, vice chancellor for development and alumni relations, has been reappointed for a five-year term beginning July 1, 2023, Chancellor Daniel Diermeier announced today.

Seven Commodores selected in MLB draft
 
Outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. was taken 17th overall by the Baltimore Orioles. Bradfield is Vanderbilt’s 22nd first-round selection in the Tim Corbin era (2003-present), which marks the most in the SEC. The Commodores have boasted a first-round pick in each of the last five MLB drafts.

At Vanderbilt’s Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries, the three-dimensional history of the university is collected and lovingly maintained by the staff of Special Collections and University Archives. Their mission is to “preserve the historical memory of the university”—memory that is found in the objects that, by their survival, attest to a timeline grounded in the space between West End Avenue and 21st Avenue South.

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and the Vanderbilt Postdoctoral Association will host the next installment of the Speak Easy talk series on Thursday, July 20, at 5 p.m. in Alumni Hall, Room 100. The series offers a casual venue for postdocs to tell their “scientific story” in a way that’s accessible to the public.
