Thirteen outstanding faculty members from across the university have been selected for the 2023 cohort of Chancellor Faculty Fellows. The group is composed of highly accomplished, recently tenured faculty from a wide variety of disciplines and areas of expertise.

Joseph C. Hough Jr., who led the Vanderbilt Divinity School from 1990 to 1999, died May 15 in Claremont, California, after a long illness. He was 89.

Vanderbilt University invites the community to events celebrating Juneteenth hosted by a number of campus partners. Vanderbilt recently announced that university staff will receive Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in United States, as a paid holiday beginning in 2023.

In celebration of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, Vanderbilt is inviting members of the university community to events offered this June through the K.C. Potter Center and the Glammadores LGBTQIA+ Employee Affinity Group, as well as community partners across Nashville.

Specialized mental health resources available for LGBTQIA+ employees; learn ways to practice allyship in the workplace
 
Through Vanderbilt’s mental health service provider, Lyra, specialized services and support are available for employees who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. All Vanderbilt University employees and their family members are eligible to receive 12 counseling sessions per household member each year at no cost.

Human Resources and Payroll will launch a new timekeeping system this summer that streamlines time entry and approval, increases accuracy and improves the experience for employees and managers.

MyVU to run Wednesdays, Fridays for faculty and staff this summer
 
MyVU has shifted its schedule for the summer to two days per week. Beginning the week of June 5, the newsletter will publish every Wednesday and Friday; the Monday edition will resume publication in August. During the summer, students receive MyVU on Fridays only.
