Apply for expanded daily parking program now; annual parking permits available in August
 
Vanderbilt will offer an expanded daily parking program for approximately 1,600 faculty, staff, postdocs and graduate and professional students this fall. In addition, Parking Services will continue to offer annual parking permits for the 2021–22 academic year.

Commodore duo selected in top 10 of MLB draft
 
Vanderbilt student-athletes Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker, both pitchers for the Commodore baseball team, were selected on night one of the 2021 MLB draft. Leiter went second overall to the Texas Rangers, and Rocker was picked 10th by the New York Mets.

’Dores in Dialogue panelists discuss landmark Supreme Court case and harmful effects of anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation
 
LAVA, the LGBTQIA+ Association of Vanderbilt Alumni, and the Vanderbilt Alumni Association explored the significance of a landmark Supreme Court case that ruled that discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in an online ’Dores in Dialogue event June 22.

Nobel laureate Doudna set for next Discovery Lecture
 
Nobel laureate Jennifer Doudna, winner of the 2020 Vanderbilt Prize in Biomedical Science, will deliver the next web-based Discovery Lecture on Thursday, July 22. Doudna is recipient of the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the co-development of the revolutionary genome editing technology known as CRISPR-Cas9.

Occupational Health now offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations
 
The Vanderbilt Occupational Health Clinic is now offering the COVID-19 vaccine to Vanderbilt faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars on a walk-in basis. Those who need their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine may walk in to the Occupational Health Clinic vaccination location on the sixth floor of the Medical Arts Building.

Staff and postdocs who submit vaccination record by July 19 eligible for $1,000 prize drawing
 
COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for all members of the Vanderbilt community for the 2021–22 academic year. To thank those who submit their vaccination records early, the Division of Administration will conduct a drawing for 25 Vanderbilt University-employed staff and postdocs who submit their records to the university’s vaccine portal by 8 a.m. on July 19.
