Dashboard Update: COVID-19 positive cases among VU community members |
|
See the latest updates to VU’s COVID-19 dashboard. Like other communities across the nation, Vanderbilt and the Nashville area are experiencing a significant increase in cases due to the surge of the omicron variant. While much more contagious than previous variants, omicron infection results in significantly less severe illness according to evidence, and the vast majority of VU students, faculty and staff testing positive are reporting mild symptoms that typically resolve within a few days.

Vanderbilt University Chancellor Daniel Diermeier led 66 other leaders of Tennessee’s colleges and universities today in sending a letter to the Tennessee congressional delegation urging them to make an affordable, high-quality college education more attainable for students by doubling the maximum Pell Grant award and permanently indexing the grant to inflation to ensure that its value will no longer diminish over time.
