Tennessee early voting ends Saturday; sign up for election notifications
 
Early voting for the Aug. 4 primary election in Tennessee ends this Saturday, July 30. Candidates for governor, U.S. House of Representatives and the Tennessee House and Senate, among others, are on the ballot. Sign up for 2022 election reminders, and register to vote in the November general election.

Humphreys wins 2023 Boyd McCandless Award from American Psychological Association
 
Assistant Professor of Psychology and Human Development Kathryn Humphreys has been recognized with the 2023 Boyd McCandless Award by the American Psychological Association’s Division 7. The award recognizes a young scientist who has made distinguished contributions to developmental psychology.

Major expansion announced for Vanderbilt University Hospital
 
Vanderbilt University Medical Center has announced plans for construction of the largest expansion to date for Vanderbilt University Hospital. A new inpatient tower will be built atop an existing parking structure located between 21st Avenue South and Medical Center Drive. Vivien Thomas Way will provide access to the new tower’s entrance.

As Vanderbilt prepares to mark its sesquicentennial—the 150th anniversary of the university’s founding—in 2023, a new program will support exploration of the university’s past and future. The Office of the Chancellor is launching the Sesquicentennial Grant Program to fund activities and projects that engage with the university’s history, look to its future and explore what makes Vanderbilt distinctive and unique.

Vanderbilt faculty are encouraged to submit applications to the 2022–23 Southeastern Conference Faculty Travel Program. The grants give faculty from Vanderbilt the opportunity to travel to other SEC campuses to exchange ideas, develop grant proposals and conduct research.
