VU community invited to apply for Vanderbilt Sesquicentennial Grants; fall 2022 deadline is Aug. 29
 
As Vanderbilt prepares to mark its sesquicentennial—the 150th anniversary of the university’s founding—in 2023, a new program will support exploration of the university’s past and future. The Office of the Chancellor is launching the Sesquicentennial Grant Program to fund activities and projects that engage with the university’s history, look to its future and explore what makes Vanderbilt distinctive and unique.

Natchez Trace to close for stadium improvement work
 
A crane will be staged along Natchez Trace in Vanderbilt’s Athletics Neighborhood to install new signs at the football stadium. On Thursday, Aug. 25, and Monday, Aug. 29, one lane of Natchez Trace will be closed for the duration of the project, and a second lane will be closed during the crane lifts.

Vanderbilt University faculty members Jane Landers, Alex Jahangir and Christopher Slobogin are scheduled to speak at “TEDxNashville: The End of Impossible” at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center Aug. 27–28. A limited number of free tickets are available, and Vanderbilt community members can get 25 percent off the price of individual general admission tickets to the event.
