1.   Churchwell expands role with new title, position at university
    Chancellor Daniel Diermeier has expanded Vice Chancellor André L. Churchwell’s role to include institutional belonging and community outreach. 2.   Student Access expands accessibility offerings, moves to center of campus

3.   Vanderbilt researcher receives $2.5 million NSF grant to establish Climate Leaders Academy
    Leah Dundon, research assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, has been awarded a $2.5 million NSF grant to establish a Climate Leaders Academy at Vanderbilt that will support students learning about climate change from a range of perspectives and include participation at the annual United Nations climate change conferences, known as COPs. 5.   Story Photo VU Theatre presents action-filled ‘Antigone’
    Vanderbilt University Theatre is opening its 2022–23 season with Antigone, an ancient Greek tragedy with timeless lessons about the importance of courage in the face of ruthless power and tyranny. 7.   LGBTQI History Month begins Oct. 1
    October is LGBTQI History Month, recognized nationally and at Vanderbilt as a time of reflection, celebration and education. In recognition of the month, the Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Life, in collaboration with campus and community partners, has developed a calendar of events including educational programs, community events, film screenings, panels, workshops and trainings. 9.   Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow to lead panel discussion on faith and politics Oct. 3
    Members of the Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center communities are invited to attend a special “Faith and Politics” panel discussion featuring Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow. The event, which includes fellow panelists Dean Emilie M. 10.   Heard Libraries and Wild Bunch to co-host panel on data privacy Oct. 6
