1.   Acclaimed journalist Byron Pitts to speak at Vanderbilt’s 2023 MLK Day commemoration
    Emmy Award–winning journalist and author Byron Pitts, co-host of ABC’s Nightline, will be the keynote speaker for Vanderbilt University’s 2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Day commemorative event. 2.   Vanderbilt names Anders Nelson head volleyball coach
    Vanderbilt University has named Anders Nelson as head coach of its reintroduced volleyball program. Most recently associate head coach at the University of Kentucky, which won the 2020 NCAA championship, Nelson will lead a Commodore program that begins play in the 2025-26 academic year. 4.   Cold temperatures cause flooding, damage to buildings on campus 
    Vanderbilt University staff stepped up to work over the winter break after a severe cold front swept through the Nashville area and caused frozen pipes and water damage in a handful of campus buildings. The Law School experienced the most damage; it will be open for the start of the spring semester, but some offices, classrooms and other meeting spaces will be closed for repairs and renovations. 7.   City to enhance public parking options in January, increase enforcement in VU neighborhoods 
    The Nashville Department of Transportation will install new electronic meters and mobile payment options and will expand enforcement of meters, residential parking permits and other parking violations beginning Jan. 1, 2023. Please be sure you are not parking in an area marked for residential parking permits only, as you will be ticketed accordingly. [ Read More ]
     
     
8.   Nichols Humanitarian Fund accepting applications through Jan. 17
