Vanderbilt to host exhibition debate on TikTok bans at universities
 
Vanderbilt University invites the campus and Nashville communities to an exhibition on Friday, Feb. 3, designed to introduce the craft of debate to new audiences while exploring a timely topic. The event is part of a larger national debate tournament hosted by the university, in which more than 100 students from 30 universities, including Vanderbilt, will participate.

The Keegan Traveling Fellowship awards $25,000 to select graduating seniors to enhance their future development as leaders through world travel and experiential learning. The application period for this year’s fellowship is still open, and interested students are encouraged to apply by Friday, Jan. 27.

The DSI Summer Research Program is open to undergraduates and encourages those from a diverse range of backgrounds to apply. Unity Project launches Vanderbilt Unity Lab; applications open for program trainers
 
To cultivate transformational connections across campus, the Vanderbilt Project on Unity and American Democracy will launch the Vanderbilt Unity Lab this spring. The Unity Lab will equip VU community members with the tools necessary to strengthen the bonds of cultural affinity and promote civil discourse. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to apply for program training positions.

Vanderbilt’s Student Center for Social Justice and Identity, Bishop Johnson Black Cultural Center, Peabody College and Blair School of Music will host “Afro-ARTivism: An Evening of Art and Hip-Hop” on Thursday, Feb. 2, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the National Museum of African American Music’s Feature Gallery. The event will honor the artistic contributions of Black Vanderbilt and Nashville community members while highlighting the concept of Black Resistance, the 2023 national theme of Black History Month.
