Philippe Fauchet, the Bruce and Bridgitt Evans Dean of Engineering and professor of electrical engineering, will step down as dean on June 30 and rejoin the school’s faculty in 2024 after a sabbatical. Vanderbilt engineering professor Carlos Silvera Batista has won a National Science Foundation CAREER Award to understand the behavior of charged particles in the presence of simultaneous electric fields. Medical Center Drive will close to nonemergency traffic on Feb. 25
