A mental health battle with internet addiction and the ruinous effects of unfiltered social media nearly ravaged a talented entrepreneur while she was a student at Vanderbilt. But Larissa May, BA’16, has turned her healing journey into an influential, youth-based digital advocacy and empowerment platform, #HalfTheStory. May returned to Vanderbilt March 4 to speak as part of the Clinton Global Initiative University annual meeting.

Frist Center seeking applications for new fellows, affiliates
 
The Frist Center for Autism and Innovation has announced its 2023 call for membership, which allows Vanderbilt faculty and staff to apply to become affiliates or fellows of the center. Applications are due by March 15.

Kirkland Hall fencing to be expanded beginning March 8
 
Beginning Wednesday, March 8, the construction fencing around Kirkland Hall will expand to fully enclose Kirkland Circle between Warren and Moore Colleges and E. Bronson Ingram College. The fence line also will expand slightly to the south, closing the sidewalk immediately adjacent to the existing fence line.

Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center, Community Resource Center hosting period product drive in March
 
The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center is celebrating Women’s History Month by partnering with the Community Resource Center to collect period products for donation throughout Middle Tennessee. Collection bins have been placed across campus, and there will be an informational event March 8 and a packing “party” March 31.
