Professor Josh Caldwell was awarded a MURI grant from Office of Naval Research that provides up to $1.5M per year for five years to study twist optics using so-called two-dimensional materials with defined crystal misorientations, which has the potential to lead to new laser sources, compact optical components for on-chip photonics, and electro-optics.

University task force hosting listening sessions in April, May on implications of new state legislation for LGBTQI+ community |

The university-wide task force convened by the Office of the Provost, in coordination with the Office of Chancellor, to assess the impact of new Tennessee laws banning gender-affirming care for minors and public adult cabaret shows will hold a series of listening sessions in April and May. All Vanderbilt faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in the listening sessions.
