Vanderbilt Poll: Actionable consensus on guns and abortion exists between Tennessee’s MAGA Republicans, Democrats
 
In its latest semiannual statewide survey, the Vanderbilt Poll measured significant bipartisan support for various gun regulations, basic protections for abortion access as well as health care access for the LGBTQ community. The survey was conducted April 19–23 among 1,003 registered Tennessee voters.

Ressa, an internationally acclaimed journalist who has endured political threats and government arrests for her commitment to truth and democracy, will receive Vanderbilt University’s prestigious Nichols-Chancellor’s Medal when she speaks to the university’s graduating students and their families on May 11 during 2023 Commencement activities. Vanderbilt establishes task force to address Supreme Court’s university admissions decision
 
Vanderbilt has convened a task force to help the university react to the possible impact of two anticipated U.S. Supreme Court decisions in cases that challenge the use of race as a factor in college admissions. The university-wide panel will work to gauge the effects on recruitment and admission practices, and on Vanderbilt’s ability ensure equal opportunity in carrying out its imperative to educate diverse minds.
