Vanderbilt University’s annual Giving Day kicked off at midnight, and the entire university community is invited to celebrate this special event. Faculty and staff play a vital role in supporting Vanderbilt’s mission and are encouraged to consider extending their investment in the university by making a gift of any size to an area that is meaningful to them.

Wente, Kopstain launch COVID-19 Safety Protocols Working Group
 
Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan R. Wente and Vice Chancellor for Administration Eric Kopstain have announced the launch of a new working group to focus on reviewing the university’s current COVID-19 protocols in light of changing CDC guidelines with a goal of making recommendations on any potential updates for the summer and fall 2021 semesters.

Nominations are now open for Vanderbilt’s top faculty awards, which recognize outstanding achievements in research and service to the university and demonstrate Vanderbilt’s appreciation for and commitment to excellence. All faculty are eligible to submit nominations for the four awards to be presented at the 2021 Fall Faculty Assembly.

Nine mid-career professionals from nine countries arrived in Nashville In January to complete the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship at Vanderbilt University. The program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, focuses on professional development and mutual exchange.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Vanderbilt Project Safe is offering educational programs throughout the month, including an eight-session empowerment self-defense course, guest lectures from national experts such as Donna Freitas, a performance by renowned poet Ashlee Haze, dialogue with author Mary Adkins about the intersection of class and sexual violence on college campuses, and more.

The Vanderbilt School of Nursing will host “Green Recovery, Climate Solutions and a Just Transition,” a public webinar and discussion, on Thursday, April 8, from 1 to 2 p.m. CT.
