Vanderbilt announces increased size limit, new amenities for outdoor official campus gatherings

As Nashville begins to have consistent warmer weather, the university is encouraging students to enjoy campus outdoor spaces by updating its gathering size maximum for official on-campus, outdoor gatherings from eight to 12 people beginning Wednesday, March 10.

Students in Class of 2023 spring into immersion with March events; deadline to submit proposals is April 1

Students in the Class of 2023 who still need to submit immersion plan proposals will find many events and resources designed to help them meet this goal. The Office of Immersion Resources has coordinated several events, workshops and informational sessions in the coming weeks to provide the help students need.

The Data Science for Social Good program is a 10-week experience in which participants work as part of a data science team on a pre-selected project for a not-for-profit organization, Vanderbilt group or government organization. The Vanderbilt community will welcome a diverse panel of renowned civil rights and social justice activists, journalists, historians and scholars for an examination of Nashville’s role as an intellectual center of the struggle for racial justice, then and now. The daylong virtual symposium will be held on Friday, March 26, starting at 9 a.m. CT and is open to the public.

Candice S. Lee, vice chancellor for athletics and university affairs and athletic director, will join a panel of administrators and student-athletes for “She Persisted: The Past, Present and Future of Women in Sports,” a conversation about women’s sports since the passage of Title IX in 1972.
