		Michael Eric Dyson, a globally renowned scholar of race, religion and contemporary culture, will join Vanderbilt as Centennial Chair and University Distinguished Professor of African American and Diaspora Studies in the College of Arts and Science and University Distinguished Professor of Ethics and Society in the Divinity School on Jan. 1, 2021. 9.		Football team unveils vintage-logo helmet; shop similar styles from College Vault collection
		During the Oct. 3 home football opener against LSU, the Commodore football team will wear special helmets featuring a vintage Vandy logo first worn during the 1979-82 seasons. This logo is part of the university’s College Vault merchandise collection, available at the Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt bookstore and online. [ Read More ]


10.		Search committee announced to find next dean of School of Nursing
		Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan R. Wente has appointed a committee to conduct a national search for the next dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Linda Norman, current dean and Valere Potter Menefee Professor of Nursing, announced last week that she will step down from the position in June 2021. [ Read More ]
