Vanderbilt recognizing 19th Amendment centennial throughout 2020; new website launched
 
Throughout 2020, Vanderbilt University will mark the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees women’s constitutional right to vote. Vanderbilt will recognize the anniversary through a new website, educational programming, lectures, community events, historical exhibits, art displays and more.

Make your voice heard: Take the Staff Engagement Survey through Friday
 
There’s still time for Vanderbilt University staff to participate in the 2020 Staff Engagement Survey, a confidential way for university leaders to collect feedback in order to recognize what Vanderbilt is doing well and where improvements are needed. The survey remains open through Friday, Feb. 21.

The Faculty Senate will host a community conversation for faculty, staff and students from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, to discuss themes from the Chancellor’s Lecture Series event with John Bolton and Susan Rice taking place this evening. The community conversation will be held in Sarratt Student Center, Room 327.

Milan Mihal, a noted Asian art historian who shared his expertise with the community during a time of rapidly developing cultural ties between Japan and Tennessee, has died at the age of 91.

The April 1 deadline to submit Immersion plan proposals is approaching for students who matriculated during the summer and fall of 2018. Students in all phases of Immersion project planning will find helpful resources at the “Spring Into Immersion” events hosted throughout the month of March.

Vanderbilt Campus Dining earns allergen-free certification
 
After passing a rigorous and thorough audit by Kitchens with Confidence, a leading independent food service accreditation system, Vanderbilt University has become the first U.S. university where all commercial on-campus kitchens are “Certified Free From” tree nuts and peanuts. In addition, Rand Dining Center’s 2301 platform is “Certified Free From” the top eight allergens as well as sesame.
