Simaan honored as IEEE fellow for robotics advancements
 
Nabil Simaan, professor of mechanical engineering, has been elevated to fellow by the Board of Directors of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The award recognizes Simaan for contributions to dexterous continuum robotics for surgery.

2020 VUSRP applications now open
 
Applications are now open for the summer 2020 cycle of the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Summer Research Program, which provides awards of $5,000–$6,000 to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors engaged in 10 weeks of full-time research with a Vanderbilt faculty member. Students can use their VUSRP experience to satisfy Immersion Vanderbilt.
