Al Gore to hold ‘24 Hours of Reality’ global climate crisis presentation at Vanderbilt

Former Vice President Al Gore will return to Vanderbilt University Nov. 20 for a global conversation on the climate crisis and its solutions. The presentation—part of a worldwide event called “24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action,” led by Gore and The Climate Reality Project, which he founded and chairs—will be in partnership with the Vanderbilt Chancellor’s Lecture Series.

Author and feminist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to deliver Chancellor’s Lecture on Nov. 21

Acclaimed author and feminist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will keynote a signature event as part of the Vanderbilt University Chancellor’s Lecture Series on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in Langford Auditorium. The event, hosted by Interim Chancellor and Provost Susan R. Wente, is free and open to the public.

vummiv WiFi outage Nov. 13-16, 19-25 in preparation of network retirement

Vanderbilt’s vummiv WiFi network will be retired on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 6 a.m. In preparation of the retirement, vummiv will be unavailable from 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, and again from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25.

Native American Heritage Month continues with Frist Art Museum visit tomorrow

On Thursday, Nov. 14, community members can participate in a dinner and visit to the Frist Art Museum for a talk by featured artist Rose B. Simpson. The first 20 people to RSVP will be able to participate in a dinner at the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center, followed by a bus ride to the Frist for Simpson’s talk.
