Peabody Neighborhood project celebrates major milestone with “topping out” ceremony
 
Vanderbilt University’s Peabody Neighborhood project achieved a major milestone on Oct. 10 with the placement of the final steel structural beam in the new connector between the Home Economics and Mayborn buildings. The event included remarks from Interim Chancellor and Provost Susan R. Wente and Patricia and Rodes Hart Dean of Education and Human Development Camilla P. Benbow.

The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center, in partnership with the Chancellor’s Lecture Series, will host Gloria Steinem, an award-winning writer, feminist activist and co-founder of Ms. magazine, for a conversation on Nov. 1. Tickets for the event will be released on Oct. 15 at Sarratt Box Office, and are available to those with a Vanderbilt University ID.

The second stop in a staff listening tour planned for the 2019-20 academic year will take place from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, in the Kissam Center, Room C210.
