2.   Actor and activist George Takei to deliver Chancellor’s Lecture Oct. 2
    George Takei, an actor and social justice advocate who had a founding role in the original “Star Trek” television series, will speak at Vanderbilt Oct. 2 as part of the Chancellor’s Lecture Series. 3.   Arun Gandhi discusses planting ‘seeds of peace’ in the world with VU community
    Arun Gandhi, a world-renowned sociopolitical activist, journalist, author and the grandson of Mohandas “Mahatma” Gandhi, shared the ways he works to foster peace in the world and lessons he learned from his grandfather during the Dean’s Diversity Lecture at Vanderbilt Peabody College Sept. 16. 5.   Experience PARK(ing) Day TODAY

8.   Student volunteers needed for pilot study on music’s effect on ICU patients
    An interdisciplinary group of Vanderbilt researchers is launching a pilot study regarding the effect of live music on patients, families and staff in the VUMC adult intensive care unit and is inviting musical members of the VU community to help. Vanderbilt University undergraduates are encouraged to participate and investigate using the experience to develop their Immersion projects. [ Read More ]
9.   Get free flu shot at Flulapalooza Wednesday
    Vanderbilt University Medical Center will host its ninth annual mass influenza vaccination event on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Flulapalooza 2019 will be held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in a tent between Light Hall and the Veterans Administration Hospital. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to get a free flu shot during the event.
