1.   Commodore Nation celebrates Vandy Boys’ national championship
    Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Nashville Mayor David Briley, and Vice Chancellor for University Affairs and Athletics and Athletics Director Malcolm Turner joined hundreds of Commodore fans on Thursday at Vanderbilt’s Multipurpose Facility to celebrate the baseball team’s College World Series championship win.     U.S. Green Building Council President and CEO Mahesh Ramanujam presented Vanderbilt with a plaque designating the university’s Engineering and Science Building and Eskind Biomedical Library with LEED Gold status at a community-wide gathering on Tuesday afternoon in the Engineering and Science Building lobby. 8.   Owen School Accelerator launches global immersion program based in Guatemala
    This December the inaugural Accelerator Global Immersion program will combine classroom instruction from renowned Vanderbilt faculty with hands-on projects led by regional business leaders. The program will run from Dec. 15 through 21 and will be based in the city of Antigua, Guatemala, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Central America’s most beautiful and historic cities.     The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center and the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries will host a discussion of the 2019 Commons Reading, “The Lies That Bind: Rethinking Identity” by Kwame Anthony Appiah, on Tuesday, July 23.
