Vanderbilt University will bring down one of its tallest campus buildings when it conducts a controlled implosion of the Carmichael West Tower 3 residence hall on Saturday, July 27.

Vanderbilt reaches College World Series finals
 
The Commodores staged a late rally to drop Louisville, 3-2, at the College World Series on Friday night, clinching a spot in the championship in Omaha. Vanderbilt will face off against Michigan in a best-of-three series for the NCAA title beginning Monday at 6 p.m.

With the Vanderbilt baseball team advancing to the College World Series finals, Vanderbilt Athletics is hosting watch parties at Hawkins Field for each championship game. All events will be free to the public, and free t-shirts and food will be given to the first 500 fans. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Vanderbilt will be recognized for its sustainable building efforts on Tuesday, June 25, when the U.S. Green Building Council presents the university with a plaque designating the Engineering and Science Building and Eskind Biomedical Library with LEED Gold status.
