Baseball takes on Duke in Super Regionals
 
The Vanderbilt Commodores host the Duke Blue Devils in a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series at Hawkins Field starting Friday at 5 p.m. Commodore fans can stock up on gear before the games by visiting the Vanderbilt pop-up shop located off Jess Neely Drive near the front entrance of the McGugin Center, across the street from the main entrance gate to Hawkins Field. The pop-up shop will be open 4-5:30 p.m. Friday, 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday, and noon-2:30 p.m. Sunday, weather permitting each day.

Goldring appointed ‘AERJ’ editor-in-chief
 
Vanderbilt University professor Ellen Goldring has been appointed editor-in-chief of the American Educational Research Association’s flagship publication, the “American Educational Research Journal.” She will head the editorial team for the journal’s 2020–22 volume years.

The new tool, an automated reference-checking resource, will allow the university to efficiently conduct an applicant’s reference check in as little as two business days, dropping up to 10 days off the average time spent collecting reference responses.

Save the date: Employee Appreciation Day at Dyer Observatory June 21
 
Employee Appreciation is partnering with the Division of Government and Community Relations to host a free event at Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory for university employees and their families. Scheduled during the Summer Solstice on Friday, June 21, from noon to 4 p.m., the event will feature activities focused on science, technology, engineering, math and astronomy.

VUIT: Don’t forget to check your spam filter
 
VUIT’s spam filter, VUmailguard, protects against unwanted emails by using the spam protection in Microsoft Office 365. A notification email is sent if there is a quarantined message requiring review. Users can either release the message from quarantine or ignore it.

Microsoft Office 365 sign-in enhancements coming in June
 
Over the next several months, VUIT will migrate all Outlook/Exchange mailboxes of VU faculty, staff and most graduate students from on-campus servers to Microsoft Outlook Office 365 in the cloud. To prepare for the Outlook/Exchange mailbox migration to Office 365, VUIT will be updating the way users sign in to Office 365 applications.
