2.   Rising VU juniors selected for Fulbright Summer Institutes in the U.K.

3.   Fort Negley receives international recognition thanks to the work of Vanderbilt scholars
    As communities throughout the South struggle to determine appropriate ways of recognizing Civil War history, Jane Landers, Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor of History, and Postdoctoral Fellow Angela Sutton have worked to draw attention to Fort Negley as a site that teaches the tragedy of slavery as well as celebrates the contributions of free and enslaved black people to Nashville and the nation’s history. 4.   Women’s Center, American Studies partner to amplify thought leadership among women and underrepresented groups
    The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center and the American Studies Program recently partnered to host the OpEd Project, a social venture and leadership organization with a focus on increasing the number of women and underrepresented experts contributing to key commentary forums in their respective fields. 6.   Medical Scientist Training Program hosts local middle school students
    Students from Vanderbilt’s Medical Scientist Training Program recently hosted on campus 160 fifth- and sixth-graders from LEAD Academy and Dickson County Schools to introduce them to physician-scientist careers through a series of interactive stations focused on science and medicine.     The No. 4 Commodores’ quest for a national championship begins Friday afternoon at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas, when they tee up with the nation’s top teams at the NCAA Championships. [ Read More ]
     
     
8.   Baseball advances in SEC Tournament
    Top-seed Vanderbilt stifled Mississippi State with runners on base and made the most of its three hits, advancing to the SEC Tournament semifinals while blanking the No. 2-seed Bulldogs 1-0 on Thursday night in Hoover, Alabama. The Commodores will face the winner of No. 5-seed LSU and Mississippi State on Saturday, in a game tentatively scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.  [ Read More ]
     
     
9.   VUIT: Password reset for faculty, staff, students

10.   Microsoft Office 365 sign-in enhancements coming in June
    Over the next several months, VUIT will migrate all Outlook/Exchange mailboxes of VU faculty, staff and most graduate students from on-campus servers to Microsoft Outlook Office 365 in the cloud. To prepare for the Outlook/Exchange mailbox migration to Office 365, VUIT will be updating the way users sign in to Office 365 applications. [ Read More ]
     
     
11.   Construction on campus parking garages to begin next week
    Effective Tuesday, May 28, the west entrance to Terrace Place Garage (entrance closest to the Baker Building) will close until June 10, then again from June 20 through June 26. [ Read More ]
