Science advocacy and innovation will be the theme of the final Chancellor’s Lecture of the 2018-19 season, set for Tuesday, April 30, in Langford Auditorium. Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos will host Mae Jemison and Rush Holt, two scientists with storied careers in government and public service.

New England selects Vanderbilt’s Williams, San Francisco picks Skule in NFL draft
 
The New England Patriots selected Vanderbilt defensive back Joejuan Williams with the 45th overall pick of the NFL draft. Williams was taken in the second round. In addition, the San Francisco 49ers selected Vanderbilt offensive lineman Justin Skule with the 183rd overall pick in the sixth round.

Vanderbilt’s Commencement 2019 is May 8–10, and your help is needed to make the event a success. This year, volunteer registration will take place through InItLive, a cloud-based volunteer management system that allows you to sign up, manage shifts and communicate with key staff before, during and after Commencement.
