In 1964, soon-to-be Vanderbilt graduate Katherine Gorham missed Commencement because she was in the hospital, recovering from having her first child. On Friday, she walked across the platform in cap and gown after her husband and the university arranged for her to participate in Commencement with the Class of 2014.
Twenty retiring faculty members were recognized during Vanderbilt’s Commencement ceremony May 9, when the university honored their years of service and bestowed on them the title of emeritus or emerita faculty.
