Lopez named Vanderbilt’s liaison to Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Carlos F. Lopez, assistant professor of biochemistry and biomedical informatics, has been appointed as Vanderbilt University’s liaison to Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

AlertVU test scheduled for Sept. 7

Vanderbilt will conduct a test of its AlertVU emergency notification system on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 2:30 p.m. AlertVU sends emergency messages in the event of an imminent threat or danger to the Vanderbilt community.


Seigenthaler Series: ‘The Vietnam War’ screening and discussion Sept. 7

A discussion and Q&A on the role of the press during the Vietnam War will follow a one-hour screening of “The Vietnam War,” a film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, at the John Seigenthaler Center Sept. 7.


New Box.com web experience slated for September

On Sept. 8, Box.com will upgrade all accounts to a new look and feel that will include other improvements based on customer feedback.


‘Resilient Souls,’ photo exhibition celebrating women’s perseverance, opens Sept. 11

“The Resilient Souls Project,” a photo exhibition of portraits and writing celebrating women’s perseverance through life’s challenges, will be on display in the Kissam Center from Sept. 11 through Oct. 6. The exhibition is part of the university’s ongoing initiative to support holistic and inclusive approaches to mental health and well-being at Vanderbilt.

Memorial service for Webb scheduled for Sept. 21 in Benton Chapel

Donna J. Webb, professor of biological sciences and of cancer biology who mentored graduate students and undergraduate researchers in the Department of Biological Sciences and served on the Steering Committee of the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s-to-Ph.D. Bridge Program, died May 15.
