Perry Wallace, pioneer who integrated SEC basketball, has died

Perry Wallace, BE’70, the Vanderbilt University student-athlete who integrated Southeastern Conference varsity basketball, died Dec. 1. He was 69.


Dillard, Wallace honored with Slive Award

The Southeastern Conference honored Vanderbilt and league legends Godfrey Dillard and Perry Wallace Friday in Atlanta with the SEC’s Michael L. Slive Award. Dillard and Wallace (represented by his nephew James) were honored throughout the day along with four football players from Kentucky.


Two Vanderbilt seniors awarded prestigious scholarships

Vanderbilt senior Logan Brown has been named a Marshall Scholar for 2018, and senior Jacqueline (Jami) Cox has been named to the third class of Schwarzman Scholars, both organizations announced today.

SkyVU Town Hall scheduled for Dec. 7

Come to the SkyVU Town Hall at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in Langford Auditorium. During this one-hour event, members of the executive steering committee will discuss program updates. In addition, the SkyVU Flight Check-In, “Student Pay,” is scheduled for Dec. 14.


Employee Assistance Program open house is Dec. 7

Vanderbilt’s Work/Life Connections–Employee Assistance Program will host an open house for university faculty and staff from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7. EAP counselors and staff members will be available to discuss the wide range of services provided by the office.


VIDL Macrogrant applications due Dec. 7

The Vanderbilt Institute for Digital Learning invites applications for Macrogrant awards for the fall 2017 cycle. These grants provide seed funding to promote development and research in digital learning.


Williams to moderate sports panel featuring VU basketball great, former Titans Dec. 8
