Protect yourself from phishing scams during tax season

This year the Internal Revenue Service has reported an increase in scams through phishing emails and fake phone calls. Remember, the IRS will never contact you by phone.


Faculty input sought at Big Data town halls Thursday and Friday

Lisa Reilly, a medieval architectural historian and leading proponent of digital humanities technology, will deliver the Norman L. and Roselea J. Goldberg Lecture in Art History Feb. 15.


USAC, American Red Cross team up for blood drive Feb. 16

The University Staff Advisory Council will team with the American Red Cross to sponsor a blood drive on Friday, Feb. 16. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sarratt Student Center.


Fiorina, former Hewlett-Packard CEO and GOP presidential candidate, to speak Feb. 20

Vanderbilt Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos will host a discussion Tuesday, Feb. 20, featuring former Hewlett-Packard Chairman and CEO Carly Fiorina and Vanderbilt Distinguished Visiting Professor and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jon Meacham.


Employee Appreciation Women’s Basketball Fan Fest set for Feb. 25

Vanderbilt University employees and their families are invited to cheer on the Vanderbilt women’s basketball team as they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks Sunday, Feb. 25. The free Employee Appreciation event begins with a Fan Fest at 12:30 p.m. in the Memorial Practice Gym, followed by the game at 2 p.m.

Deadline to use 2017 FSA funds is approaching

Vanderbilt University employees with funds remaining in 2017 health care or dependent day care flexible spending accounts (FSAs) have until March 15, 2018, to use their funds and must submit all claims by April 15, 2018.


SkyVU in-person support continues

From Jan. 8 through mid-February, the SkyVU team will offer weekly support meetings designed for specific roles.


Reminder: VUPD has designated area for safe exchange of items bought, sold online

Vanderbilt University Police Department has designated an “Exchange Area” or “Safe Deal Zone” to provide a safe environment for Vanderbilt students, faculty and staff to trade legal new or used items bought or sold online through various apps.
