Vanderbilt football will host its annual open practice for university faculty and staff and Vanderbilt University Medical Center employees on Thursday, Aug. 16, from 4 to 5:45 p.m. Free hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided.


Poster session will feature work on next-gen vaccines

Computer-aided design and engineering of antibodies and vaccine candidates that can neutralize viral scourges like influenza and Ebola will be the topic of an Aug. 17 poster session presented by the Vanderbilt Center for Structural Biology and the Vanderbilt Vaccine Center.


Fall Faculty Assembly is Aug. 23

Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos will discuss his vision for the upcoming academic year and present several of the university’s highest honors to faculty at the fall assembly on Aug. 23.


Enjoy Nashville’s Shakespearean tradition on West End

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival will perform “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Aug. 9 through Sept. 9 at Centennial Park, with significant support from Vanderbilt and other community partners.
