Technological Initiatives
Activities
To demonstrate fulfillment of these objectives, participants will complete the following activities:

Participate in a workshop on technology sponsored by your department, the CFT, some other unit at Vanderbilt, or a workshop offered at a professional conference.
After the workshop, participants should complete responses to reflection questions [Form 2: Event Attendance Form] and include the form in their F2P2 notebook.

Complete of one of the following activities:

Develop a web page highlighting your teaching and research. Include the first page of the website as well as Form 3: Technological Tools in Teaching and Learning in your notebook. If you want, include a link on your webpage to the F2P2 website.
OR

Demonstrate knowledge of software/tools used in teaching - either to help students learn the content of a course or to maximize the effectiveness/efficiency of teaching. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following: course management software (e.g., Prometheus, WebCT, Blackboard), the effective use of the Internet in a teaching application, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, electronic discussion lists, bulletin boards, Personal Response Systems, PDA technology, scanner usage and software. Complete Form 3: Technological Tools in Teaching and Learning and place it in your notebook.

Review an article or interview someone about applications of technology to your specific disciplinary area. If you choose to review an article, place a copy of the article into your F2P2 notebook as well as a one page review of the article. If you choose to interview someone, include both the interview questions and responses.
